South San Francisco Wedding | Tina & Mark

The first time I met Tina and Mark, I knew they were going to be a lot of fun. When we met at Starbucks to get to know each other, Mark instantly had me laughing, and I could just feel Tina’s heart of gold. They told me all about their wedding, and I was instantly excited.

We decided to do their engagement session at Fort Funston. We walked around on the beach to one of our final locations as the sun was starting to set. The light was perfect, there was a slight breeze, and they both were such naturals in front of the camera. Mark grabbed Tina and started singing “I just seen a face, I can’t forget the time or place that we just met, I knew she just the girl for me and I want the world to see we’ve met.” I just about melted. It was one of the sweetest things I’ve ever gotten to see, and I could just feel how much love they had for each other.

Fast forward to their wedding. They had the ceremony outside on the lawn, overlooking the water and boats tied to the docks. South San Francisco is normally known for its grey skies and being kind of cold, but their day had the most beautiful weather I’ve seen in a long time. The sun was out, and the temperature was just right; really warm, but not too hot at all. Tina and Mark had their reception inside of Dominic’s, which was decked out in purple and gorgeous floral arrangements.

It was time for Mark’s speech. After he expressed how thankful he was for everyone to be there, (some traveled across the country and world to attend their special day!) he started to tell the story of how they met, and their first few dates. On their second date, Tina and Mark were waiting for their trains on the platform at bart. Mark’s train came and went, but he didn’t get on it. When Tina asked why, he said he wanted to stay with her until her train came, so he can protect her from the crazies. (I’m sure those of you who ride bart will completely understand.) Finally, her train arrived and they said their goodbyes. Once she left, Mark broke out into a song on the platform: “I just seen a face, I can’t forget the time or place that we just met, I knew she just the girl for me and I want the world to see we’ve met.” But being very involved with theater and performing, Mark didn’t just tell his guests that he started singing, but actually sang it for everyone in the room. Tina’s face was glowing the whole time. And so was everyone else’s.

The rest of the reception was filled with lots of eating, dancing, and even a light saber fight! The kids really stole the show on the dance floor, and loved having their photos taken.

Tina and Mark’s big day was so fun! I’m so thankful they chose me to capture the moments, and let me do something that I love the most out of everything in the world. I wish them nothing but the best, and hope we can stay connected in the future. They are both such great people.
