HELICOPTER!

So for my birthday (in December) my mom bought me a helicopter tour!! I finally used it a few weeks ago and it was the most amazing experience! Matt bought himself a ticket so he could come with me!

It was incredibly windy. Also slightly scary when we were starting to take off, but once we got up in the air it was totally fine.

I brought a ton of camera gear with me. I had my Nikon D7100 with the 18-140 lens, and my Nikon D750 with an 85 and 50mm. Photo creds to Matt.

First we flew over Oakland! Normally the flights fly over SFO, but since it was super windy that day we would have been in the way of the rerouted air planes. EVERYTHING LOOKED SO TINY! The Oakland airport looks like a little play set my little cousin would play with.

The thing that really caught my eye about the area was all of the winding highways, streets, and shapes in general that it made, so I focused on those things while capturing it.

Then we flew over San Francisco! First we went over the new expansion of the Bay bridge, then the embarcadero, Alcatraz, and over to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was funny because our pilot said “We’re going to fly over Alcatraz now!” and I told him that I worked there, and he said “Oh, well I guess I don’t have to tell you anything about it then.” He told me someone couldn’t get tickets (we sell out weeks in advance) so then they went to do a helicopter tour instead, and told the pilot they wanted an extensive tour from the air. So he had to go on google and look up facts. lol

Next, we went over Ocean Beach and Golden Gate Park! After this we went back over the Embarcadero and back to San Carlos where we started.

And lastly, here are some images of just the land. Besides the first one which is obviously the ocean, the other pictures look like their from a different planet! I would have never guessed I could get pictures like that over the San Carlos area.

I can’t wait to go and do it again! Being up there was such an amazing experience I’m going to remember for the rest of my life. Someone let me borrow $20k so I can go to pilot school and just fly where ever I want. I promise I’ll give you rides lol. We were talking to the people who took us up, and they were saying they just borrow the small planes or helicopters and go to Half Moon Bay and have lunch, and come back. LIVING THE LIFE! And you can land helicopters pretty much where ever, and they were saying they flew up to the top of a mountain and just hung out there for a while. That’s the life I want to life.

After, Matt and I went for dinner at a place called TOWN. THEIR FOOD IS SO BOMB. If you’re ever in that area, GO THERE! If you don’t have a reservation, you can sit at the cooks counter or outside I believe. I wanted to cry everything was so good.
